Within the heart of Oxford lies Port Meadow, a four hundred acre area of common land. Throughout history, its use has changed drastically during periods such as, the Neolithic age, Anglo Saxon Britain, World War I, continuing to the present day. Yet this pasture has remained familiar, with grazing used as a form of management over thousands of years.
The Unploughed Ground, is an ongoing exploration of the landscape's natural succession from season to season. As well as a discovery into the relationships developed between people and the biological communities that inhabit this space.
